2 Corinthians 2:12-13

When I came to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ, even though a door was opened for me in the Lord, my spirit was not at rest because I did not find my brother Titus there.  So I took leave of them and went on to Macedonia.

Key Points:

1. Came to Preach the Gospel (purposed and commissioned by God)  Why? He's a Christian!
2. "Knew" the door was opened.  Many in fear often doubt and so never share.  Right?
3. BUT, His Spirit (self-control, discernment, etc.) cautioned him.  Perhaps Titus being a partner in confirming a legitimate witness (need of another to make legit).
4. Obedience to the Spirit.  He moved on.

Pondering/Devotion:

......Think and meditate upon this scripture concerning your own life.  First, do you wake up and purpose to go into the world, "your" world and preach the Gospel?  If not, what is your plan?  Is it God's plan?  Did you wake up to first consult with Jesus upon what you are to do today as his "professed" servant?  Did you fill the Spiritual Tank with Gas?  Did you you brush your teeth this morning?  Why?  How much more important to set the words of Scripture in your mind!  

I encourage always, as the Bible makes clear - Be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to be fruitful in eternal, Kingdom work - for such is the will of God for you.  After all, you profess faith - it must show with clarity and power in a lost and hopeless world!!  Remember, it's not about us;  know your identity as did Paul and go on to fruitful, effective, eternal ministry as he did!  Go and read (2 Timothy 2:1-10), may the Lord bless you and may you determine to be a faithful servant; a servant who ACT"S"AVED!!
